before long 和soon after的区别

soon after 不久之后, 稍后，after是连词，后面跟一个句子。
before long
是“很快，不久”的意思, 可以用于各种时态。是词组表示时间，单独用。
例如:
1).I'll see the film before long 我不久就要看这部电影.
2)."Before long, the noise dropped completely and the boat began to drift gently across the water."
"不久,轰鸣声完全消失了,于是这只船开始慢悠悠地漂浮在水面上。"

第一句soon after we were seated前置了吧，其实也可以是这样：A waiter came over to our table with a smile soon after we were seated。
这样的话和第二句就看起来差不多了吧。

最基本的解释就是 before long后面不能再加任何短语，而soon after后面可以

before long
(时间)不久之后, 在短时间内

soon after
不久之后,稍后

before long不久以后的意思后面不能加东西呀。
He will come home before long.
