Botong in Henan Province, the origin of Huai River, is used to be abundant of forest resource.
According to the data, there were more than 160 acres of forest in Botong in 2002. The forest coverage went up to 48.7 percent.
However, in recent years,over 70 percent of forest has been damaged in Botong, which does harm to the environment severely. Many big trees has been sold after being cut down illegally, while saplings are transplanted to other places for landscaping.
Faced to this situation, it's high time that we took mearues to protect the forest resource in Botong, which is both beneficial to nature and human beings ourselves.
