这里面的plants和birds是动名词blooming与nesting的逻辑主语。当句子的主语不是该动名词的动作发出者时，我们就需要在该动名词的前面补出它的动作发出者，也叫做逻辑主语。如：
Would you mind closing the door?
Would you mind me closing the door ?
第二个句子中的me 就是动名词closing 的逻辑主语。
