Turkey is with rich connotations in English,for example,talk turkey means talking frankly and
straightforwardly or getting down to business, cold turkey means complete and abrupt
withdrawal of all addictive drugs or anything else on which you have become dependent.
To a Chinese, it is only a common animal .Turkey doesn't make any subliminal connection
in his minds.
Turkey has different meanings in English, such as talk turkey, cold turkey and so on. But it's only an ordinary kind of animal to Chinese. The word doesn't bring Chinese any acssociation.
