纯英语专业，从事过几年翻译，转行应聘technical writer能行吗？

转行应聘technical writer：
1、是否能转行technical writer需要看是否熟悉准备应聘的技术行业。
2、technical writer即技术文档工程师。
3、技术文档工程师可以理解为技术记者，通过和开发，测试，SE等沟通、学习获得所需技术信息，写成文档供用户参考使用。文档一般包括安装，配置，产品介绍等一系列文档。需要有一定的技术背景，较强的学习能力和良好的英语沟通及写作能力。
4、纯英语专业，从事过几年翻译，良好的英语沟通及写作能力是不缺乏的，但一定的技术背景是转行应聘technical writer的重要条件，对准备应聘的技术行业不熟悉是不行的。

Generally, what you are planning to do is what we call "paper work" or "documentation", which need some of technical background, you have to do some of preparation for your new speciality, which should be close to the production and operation of your company, then you will be more professional.

Same here, majored in English in college. I began to work as an English translator since my graduation, but the contents were all about software products. I worked there just eight months, but I set a foot into the IT industry and was not regarded as a green hand any longer in the technical documentation field. Now I am a total technical writer because the software products have no Chinese version, all targeting western customers. My first job determines my current position.

You can absolutely become a technical writer. Usually big companies are willing to train you, not matter what backgrounds you have, and small companies hope you can pick up tasks in short time.
